White sands. Blue waters. Fresh sea air. Where do you imagine? Somewhere far, far away? Think again. With the unbelievable weather that Scotland has been experiencing so far this summer, it seems almost silly to spend a large amount of money on flights abroad when you can spend your time soaking up Scotland in all its glory. And what better way to do just that than to hire a campervan in Scotland with Rockin Vans.

2018 is the year of the staycation in Scotland. Having been announced the most beautiful country in the world just last year; Scotland has bags full of potential just waiting to be discovered. And perhaps one of the most beautiful, yet unsung things that Scotland holds is it’s beaches.

Due to Scotland’s vast network of roads, most of Scotland’s breath-taking beaches are accessible by car (campervan!), making it the perfect place for your summer staycation.  Below is just a handful of what Scotland has to offer in terms of it’s white sandy beaches, starting off in Edinburgh, where you can pick up your hired campervan with Rockin Vans.

From Edinburgh, you can start your adventure to the beach of West Sands, located northeast just an hour and a half away in the beautiful seaside town of St. Andrews.  With plenty of car parking, West Sands provides 2 miles of glorious sand dunes situated alongside the world-famous golf course that is St. Andrews Links.

This is where the real driving begins en route to Loch Morlich, situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Take your campervan through the abundance of greenery towards the freshwater gem that is Loch Morlich. Now, it may not be your typical seaside beach, however Loch Morlich presents a delightful sandy bay that overlooks views that don’t disappoint.

Following this is the adventure to Achnahaird beach, which has been described as the ‘pearl’ of the west coast of Scotland. This beach is where you will find peace and serenity. You will also find a reserve of wild life featuring incredible creatures such as golden eagles and even wild cats.

Now you are on the west coast of Scotland, you will find a wealth of stunning beaches. From here you have the likes of the Sands of Morar in the West Highlands, Camusdarach beach in Arisaig, and not to mention the beaches that the Isle of Skye has to offer.

These beaches are just a few of the many, many beaches that Scotland hosts, where you can spend evenings on the white sands over looking turquoise waters, enjoying a few cold ones after a day of driving whilst taking in some magnificent sunsets. Why would you want to go anywhere else but here? With a variety of campervans available to hire, Rockin Vans provides something for everyone and their staycation needs.
