New Year, New Motorhome Hire (UK)

New Year, New Motorhome Hire (UK)

First off, Happy (belated) New Year! We’ve now transitioned into that wonderful time of in which we all set ourselves resolutions. Things that sound like a great idea at the beginning of January before we all have to go back to work, but then reality hits and it becomes less appealing every day. No one wants to work nine to five and then work out at the gym for an hour. Life is short, why cut out all unhealthy food ever? That’s why we at Rockin Vans feel that you should aim for a fun 2019 and set the goal of travelling more instead. We can help make this resolution a reality by setting you up with a motorhome hire in the UK.

You may be asking yourself, why should I set a goal of more travel this year? Well, we’re biased, but we think that travelling leads to a more fulfilling and enriched life. You’ll be creating special memories and having unique experiences. Why set yourself up for a tough year, when you could choose a more exciting one. It doesn’t even have to be expensive. The UK is full of fantastic sites. You can save on travel and accommodation costs by combing the two and opting for a UK motorhome hire.

Not convinced? Well, we’ve prepared a small list of places and buildings in the UK that are totally out of the norm. If you visit, it’ll be like you’ve briefly transported yourself to another continent. You won’t believe some of the unique locations that we have right here on our wee island.

Chinatown, Liverpool

Going to China is expensive. Flights alone are going to cost you at least £350 and that’s on a budget. It’s a holiday of a lifetime, but something you really do need to save up for. Fortunately, we have our very own taste of China right here. Liverpool is home to the oldest Chinese community in Europe. Dating back to as early as 1834, the Chinatown has been through a number of developments throughout the years. This has given the location its own rich history. With a number of Chinese businesses and facilities for the Chinese community and gorgeous Chinese-style architecture, the Chinatown in Liverpool is a place that is definitely worth checking out with your motorhome hire.

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London

There are tons of brilliant attractions in London. It’s synonymous with Britain and is the place most people associate with the sovereign state. Seriously, it’s almost painfully British. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t also amazing buildings from other cultures. Built using traditional methods and materials, the Swaminarayan Mandir is regarded as being the first authentic Hindu temple in Britain. It was the first Hindu stone temple on the entire continent of Europe and at one point it was the biggest Hindu temple outside India. It is an amazing structure to behold. With your motorhome hire in the UK, you can make it an amazing stop on a tour of London.

Cheddar Gorge, Somerset

Have you ever seen Lord of Rings and then immediately wanted to explore Middle-earth? The trilogy was filmed in New Zealand over the span of a year and hardcore fans flock to the country in the hopes of seeing some of the films iconic locations. Fortunately, you don’t have to hop on a plane to get a Hobbit experience. Cheddar Gorge is the largest gorge in England, at almost 400ft and 3 miles long. It is spectacular. It honestly looks like it could be in the film. There are a ton of activities there as well with; cliff-top walks, caves and museums.

Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery, Dumfries and Galloway

If you have the chance to go, Tibet is an amazing place to visit. The mainly Buddhist territory is remote and absolutely stunning. Sadly, not everyone has the funds to go. Luckily for us, we have an amazing location in Scotland that is almost as good as the real thing. Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery was established back in 1967 and was the first Tibetan Buddhist Centre to be set up in the West. Day visitors are welcome to visit all year round, free of charge. There is also a Tibetan Tea Room and a shop for guests to make use of.

These are just a few of the locations on offer that can transport you to another continent without even leaving the UK. All of them are great places to start if you’re looking to have the New Year resolution of making 2019 the year of travel and adventure. Rockin Vans would be delighted to help you on your way with one of our motorhomes hires for UK travel. For more information, please feel free to get in contact with one of our team.
